Sculptures and Ceramics
I take on universal forms which remind me of our lives, giving me the opportunity to explore and manipulate movement in depth using clay and porcelain as medium. Currently I’m working on the Möbius string. The Möbius is a fascinating form to me. My eye (and soul) are tirelessly attracted by the endless movement, silently unfolding itself in an everlasting curve.

About me
Nathalie Eeckman

Ceramics, Bronze & Porcelain
I'm born in Kortrijk (Belgium) in 1963 and studied Roman Languages and Literature at the University of Leuven (KUL). Some time ago I gave my life a new direction to concentrate on what really matters to me : expression. I started attending the sculpture classes of Dominique D’Haese in Ghent (Belgium) but the real turn-about was initiated when I started ceramics at the Academie of Visual Arts in Anderlecht (near Brussels; Belgium) in 2010.
This was the beginning of an interesting and facinating adventure !
What I like about working with clay is the combination of the diffferent elements earth, water, air and fire. Each element has a role to play and it's my task to take the best out of it. I currently work with different types of clay (even though I like to work with clay from my country (Belgium)), and with porcelaine. I love to feel and work with the texture and elasticity of these mediums.
I work very intuitively and go along with the medium to create the shapes.
